One-Eyed Horse Is Kentucky Derby’s Most Inspirational Story

Patch is a one-eyed horse set to run in this year's Kentucky Derby.

If you’re looking for the most inspiring horse in this year’s Kentucky Derby, look no further.

You’ll find a great story with Patch, a one-eyed horse who is set to run for the roses.

The Courier-Journal reports Patch lost his eye last June after suffering an infection.

Incredibly, Patch’s trainer, Todd Pletcher, believes the missing eye will be a non-factor when it comes to race day.

“If you watched him train and didn’t know that he had one eye, there’s no indication of him doing anything peculiar in his training or in his races that would make you concerned about the one eye,” Pletcher told the Courier-Journal.

One of my favorite parts of this story is the fact that Patch got his name long before he lost his eye.

He also has his own Twitter feed.

How can you not love a horse with a Twitter feed?

I’ll be cheering you on Saturday!

Go, Patch, go!
