Wynton Marsalis And Siblings Celebrate Their Mother’s Life With A Jazz Funeral

Wynton Marsalis and his siblings celebrate the life of their mother, Delores, playing, "I'll Fly Away," at her jazz funeral.

Jazz great Wynton Marsalis and his five brothers have lost their mother.

Dolores Marsalis was 80 years old when she passed away last month.

What a life she had as the matriarch of this musical family.

She was married to renowned jazz musician, Ellis Marsalis.

Together, they had six sons.  Four of them are jazz musicians including Wynton and Branford.

With so much music in the house, there was only one way to send off and celebrate this great woman.

Dolores Marsalis was the matriarch of the incredibly talented and musical Marsalis family.

Dolores Marsalis was the matriarch of the incredibly talented and musical Marsalis family.

Her family and friends played, “I’ll Fly Away,” out side the church where her funeral service was held.

I just love this.

Celebrate the life and joy some one you love has brought you.
