Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser Becomes A First Time Mom Adopting Baby Girl

Washington, D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser has become a first time mom, adopting a newborn baby girl.

Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser knows big things are possible.

After all, she became mayor of the city she grew up in.

At the age of 45, she had never married or had kids.

Last year, she decided she wanted to change that and started looking into adoption.

She has announced that she is now a mom, adopting a baby girl.

Mayor Bowser says she started the adoption process thinking it might take longer than it actually did.

The lessons of parenthood are showing up already.

She told WUSA, “When you sit in the seat that I’m in, you’re used to being able to make things happen and babies have a way of letting you know that they’re in control,” said Bowser. “I’m really just looking forward to being able to pour a lot of love and attention and affection on a baby and help the baby grow into a wonderful Washingtonian.”

Fortune Magazine points out this makes Bowser the first single mother to run the nation’s capital.

And talk about busy–Bowser is also running for reelection. I know one baby girl who thinks her new mom is the best woman for the job.

WUSA reports the mayor has named her daughter, Miranda Elizabeth Bowser.

In the interest of privacy, the mayor hasn’t released a picture.

C’mon, Mayor Mom, just one little snap for us to say, “Ahhhhh!”

Congratulations. You’ve just started on the best campaign of your life.
