Walmart Worker Uses Her Break To Paint Fingernails For Woman With Disability

Walmart employee Ebony Harris uses her break to paint the fingernails of a woman with a disability who had been denied a manicure because she was told she moves too much.

Angela Peters just wanted her fingernails manicured.

That didn’t seem to be a lot to ask when she went into the Da-Vi nail salon inside a Walmart in Burton, Michigan last week.

But even simple things can be challenging when you live with cerebral palsy like Peters does.

Not that she’s isn’t very able.

She’s a poet and an artist.

Apparently, though, the folks at Da-Vi weren’t interested in making her a customer.

They told she shakes too much they wouldn’t be able to paint her nails.

Ebony Harris works at that Walmart, too. She sees Peters all the time when she comes in the store. Likes her a lot. Ms. Harris wasn’t having the way Peters was treated.

Peters told WNEM-TV,  “I found out what happened and I just asked her, ‘do you want me to do your nails?’ And she just started smiling and said yeah,” Harris said.

Together, Harris and Tasia Smith, who works inside the Walmart’s Subway, decided to give Peters the manicure she deserved.

Smith shared the world’s best manicure on her Facebook page.

Smith told WNEM that their act of kindness has a pretty simple message.

“If you see someone that’s going through something and they need help, help them,” Smith said.

“We’re not trying to bash anybody, anybody lose their business or anything, but create an awareness,” Harris said.

Peters could not be more grateful to her friends for coming out and helping her in her time of need.

“I’m making new friends at Walmart as well and they get to see my abilities too. So it’s awesome,” she said.

When Angela Peters was denied a manicure because she was told she moves too much, Walmart employee Ebony Harris was determined to make things right. Amazing how some kindness and a little blue nail polish can make the world a better place.
