Popeyes Restaurant Offering ‘Emotional Support Chicken’ At Philly Airport

Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen restaurant is offering travelers their version of emotional support chicken.

Restaurant is betting their emotional support chicken will bring customers comfort

Talk about comfort food.

That’s what Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen is betting their “Emotional Support Chicken” offering will bring travelers at Philadelphia’s restaurant.

This, of course, is a very clever market move playing off the controversy of airline passengers getting their pets certified as “emotional support animals,” so that they can travel with them in the main cabin.

Hope Diaz, Popeye’s chief marketing officer says, “We know holiday travel can be frustrating, and there’s no better way to ease stress than with a box of delicious Popeyes fried chicken and a good laugh.”

Certainly worked here!

The ESC package costs $8.49 and contains much the same as a regular chicken tenders meal, only packaged in a way that is sure to bring some added chuckles from your fellow customers.

USA Today reports It will only be available for a short time and only at the Popeye’s in Terminal C of Philadelphia’s International Airport.

As airlines start to crack down on the kind of animals passengers can bring on board, Diaz points out,  “The good news is that our emotional support chicken is permitted to fly without any restrictions – one less worry for busy travelers!”
