March 26, 2008: So Much To Say, So I Think I Will

Before you do anything else make sure you check out today's story that I shot on my recent trip to Sun Valley, ID.

It was quite an honor to get to spend 6 days with a group of guys who volunteered to serve America and wound up making incredible sacrifices.  Each one in the group is either an amputee, paralyzed, and/or suffered significant brain trauma while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Yet, they are all fighting back reclaiming their lives.

I figured out quite a few things over the last week or so.  One, that I've covered war, I've interviewed more than military types than I can count over my long traditional news career, but I had never had the chance to just hang out and get to know incredible guys like this.

I'm also figuring out that besides the featured video of the day, this blog is the most popular space on DarynKagan.com.  So, I'm going to try something new---going to combine the two.

I'm going to do my blog on camera.  Just speak my heart direct to you.  I call it, "Blogideo."  And the first one will be tomorrow, all about my thoughts and experiences of spending 6 days with these incredible vets.

I hope you'll click on by.

Meanwhile, my friend Pat Murphy wrote the nicest piece about my Sun Valley visit for the Idaho Mountain Express. You can check it out here.

Thanks, Murph!
