April 8, 2008: Book-La-Palooza Begins!

Just want to say, "Thanks!" for sharing this big day with me.

My first book ever hits bookstores today.  What's Possible! is also up on Amazon.com, and Walmart.com and the proverbial, "anywhere books are sold."

The hoopla really started over the weekend in New York City.  There's a lot of fancy things I could've done to launch the book tour, but nothing could've topped what I knew was the only choice---doing my first book signing in my little sister's coffee house.

Kallan and her girlfriend, Sara, have run "Lonelyville Coffee" for the last two years, right across the street from Prospect Park in Brooklyn.
"Lonelyville" might not sound like the most inspiring DarynKagan.com-y kind of name. But in this down home, family friendly place, no one is lonely.

And where ever my sister is, that's home for me.  So, Lonelyville it was!

It was great to set up a table in the front and share the "What's Possible!" stories with the families and park visitors as they came in to load up on java.

Thanks, as well, to my old friends who stopped by to wish me well.

From there, it was a media whirlwind.  I spent time yesterday with Oprah's best friend, Gayle King, on her XM Radio program.  XM subscribers—you can hear that interview on tomorrow's program.  There were also interviews with Associated Press, Good Morning America Radio, Better TV, to name a few and that was just before lunch!

No sooner did I get back to Atlanta late last night then it seemed my alarm clock was going off to make it to the local Fox station.  I really appreciate the hometown support.  Also, wanted to spread the word that I will be the Barnes & Noble in Buckhead tonight at 6:30 pm.  Thanks to the wonderful Ladies Who Launch for organizing this event!

I've invited all the Atlanta heroes featured in the book and on this website to come.  So, this won't be any ol'book signing.  No, this will be like a heroes convention.  Not a bad posse to travel with!

Again, thanks to all of you who support this website and have already purchased the book.
