Thanks for your great responses to yesterday's question, "Why Inspirational News?" I passed them onto the newspaper reporter along with my own thoughts.
Talking with her was a great reminder about all the choices we have the power to make each day.
It started with her first question. "How do you not get totally depressed with all the bad news in the newspaper and on television each day?" she wanted to know.
The answer seemed so obvious that I almost hesitated to say. "Uh, don't watch it," I suggested.
Of course, I then clarified that I strongly believe it's important to be informed and know what's going on in the world and your community. I'm not anti-news. But I am anti-dwelling and expanding the negative. I prefer to expand the positive. Seems to me that's how we're going to make things better. Apparently, I'm not alone. Many of you agree by the look of your great responses in our social online community. You can still weigh in if you like.
Also, over in our community I've launched our first Love Story Contest. Valentine's Day is just around the corner.
Don't say, "Ug!" Instead, get your typing fingers ready. I want to hear your best love story. It can be romantic love or it can be love between friends, siblings, strangers, parents, children. Only requirement--it involves love. The best story will be posted on Valentines Day in my blog. You'll also get a signed copy of my book, "What's Possible!" and a "Hope Happens at DarynKagan.com t-shirt."
Okay, you're not going to retire on that Mother Lode, but you will have a fun time celebrating love with all of us. I can't wait to see what you create. Please get your stories posted as soon as possible. At least by Thursday, February 12th.
