Nurses Dress Newborn Babies Up As Mr. Rogers In Honor of World Kindness Day

Fred Rogers’ wife, Joanne even paid a visit

Fred Rogers was all about kindness with his inviting question, “Won’t you be my neighbor?”

Nurses at UPMC Magee-Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh dressed the newborn babies up in red cardigans and Rogers-inspired booties.

Fred Rogers’ wife, Joanne, even came for a visit. She was clearly delighted by the gesture.

GMA reports that nurse Caitlin Pechin knitted all the outfits.

What better way to welcome Pittsburgh’s newest neighbors.

This photo of Mr. Rogers shows what a great job the nurses did in dressing up the nursery of newborn babies up to look like him.

Why Pittsburgh?

That’s where Fred Rogers produced his iconic children’s show, “Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood” at public television station WQED.
