Comedian Patton Oswalt Raises Money For Trump Supporter Who Attacked Him On Twitter

Oswalt finds common ground in man’s health crisis
Comedian Patton Oswalt put down his Twitter sword for a moment to find a man who attacked him on Twitter was also a Vietnam veteran who was suffering with severe health challenges.
Oswalt decided to pivot from someone with different political beliefs to a man who had the ability to help another man out.
Aw, man. This dude just attacked me on Twitter and I joked back but then I looked at his timeline and he’s in a LOT of trouble health-wise. I’d be pissed off too. He’s been dealt some shitty cards — let’s deal him some good ones. Click and donate — just like I’m about to. https://t.co/6zRdZ430WG

The media blog Mediaite checked out Michael Beatty’s GoFundMe account. It was at just $500. Then Oswalt donated $2000. More of his followers got in the spirit of crossing political lines and donated thousands more. It is now at over $13,000.
Beatty has been left speechless and did his best to show his gratitude in his own tweet.
Patton. You have humbled me to the point where I can barely compose my words. You have caused me to take pause and reflect on how harmful words from my mouth could result in such an outpouring. Thank you for this and I will pass this on to my cousin who needs help. A cascade. pic.twitter.com/6Is7KflPeY

One man commented with the spirit of what he witnessed happening. Tyler Jedrey wrote, “The best way to pay this forward is to do the same for someone you traditionally would not help, when you have the chance. Not even with money, kind words go so far. I’m with you, brother. Let’s make this a better world for everyone. ”
