Congressional Candidate Qasim Rashid Responds To Nasty Message With Life-Changing Kindness

Congressional candidate Qasim Rashid responds to nasty message with life-changing kindness.

Nasty message inspires congressional candidate Qasim Rashid to lead a flood of generosity for man who wrote it.

Seeing a nasty message online is just a part of life for congressional candidate Qasim Rashid is running for office in Virginia.

He happens to be a Muslim man who some folks would rather not see in office.

They are not shy about expressing it.

“We do not need you(r) ilk in our nation.  Let alone in any seat of office above street sweeper.”

Facebook comment from Oz Dillon

Can you imagine all the equally nasty things Rashid could’ve tweeted back?

Maybe he could’ve been the bigger man and just ignored it all together.

Rashid didn’t pick either option.

Instead, Steve Hartman reports that Rashid went looking through Dillon’s old Facebook posts. He discovered the man had significant medical debt.

It was so bad, he’d set up a GoFundMe account asking for help.

That’s when Rashid knew what he had to do.

“My faith teaches me to serve all humanity. So I’ve donated $55 to his GoFundMe. Please donate if you can.”

What came from that one gesture is so beautiful.

Master storytelling Hartman has another beautiful piece.

We got this people.

Kindness.

We can get through.

We can find our commonality.

Even during these divisive, difficult times.
