Firefighters Feed Family’s Pet Fish After Carr Fire Forces Evacuation

Firefighters save the life of Grant the pet fish during the raging Carr Fire in California.

Father Feared He’d Have To Tell Daughter Grant, The Beta Fish, Didn’t Survive

A certain pet fish and one very grateful family are hailing firefighters in Northern California.

Cal Fire shared on Twitter that one family was coming home to a happy surprise. They were among the thousands of people who had to evacuate to escape the raging Carr Fire in Redding, California.

One father prepared his daughter that their beta fish, Grant, probably didn’t survive.

Hold onto those tears.

The first happy news was that the family’s home survived.

They also found a note explaining that Grant had actually been fed twice by firefighters and police.

Engine 1489 left behind a note saying, “Fed your fish a few sprinkles. Sorry if we weren’t supposed to.”
