Friends Throw Surprise Bridal Shower In Parking Lot For Woman Who Had To Cancel Her Wedding

The surprise bridal shower Sheila Brosnan walked into last week certainly was not the celebration she was planning in Ashburn, Virginia.
But then, what is, these days?
When Brosnan had to cancel her wedding to Terence Gavin because of the coronavirus lockdown, just about all her wedding dreams seemed to be ruined.
Maybe that’s why she didn’t have a clue when Gavin casually suggested they take a Sunday drive.

Instead of a car ride, she noticed a bunch of people gathering in the parking lot of their apartment complex.
Brosnan told GMA she thought they were gathering for birthday party or something. And in fact, she got a little judgey.
“I even looked at my fiancé and said, ‘I hope those people are being socially distant there,'” she recalled. “‘I don’t know who they are but I hope they’re following the rules.'”
It was only when she got closer that she realized the group were actually her friends and they were there for her.

They were all waiting for her on blankets and beach chairs, an appropriate 6-feet apart from each other.
‘I think it’s the nicest thing anyone ever has done,” said Brosnan. “I felt really, really loved.’

GMA reports that Brosnan and Gavin were originally supposed to get married on June 6th. They’ve postponed their big day to November 28th.

I do want to note that this surprise bridal shower took place a couple weeks ago before quarantine directives became even stricter.
I just have so many uplifting stories, I’m posting as fast as I can, which is a wonderful challenge to have.
