Golden Retriever puppies steal hearts and minds in Santiago

A gaggle of Golden Retriever puppies might be the sneakiest weapon in the history of military warfare.

(Is that the right word? Gaggle? Herd? Flock? Tribe?)

In any case, these pups were featured in a military parade in Santiago, Chile and they are sure to steal hearts and minds everywhere!

ABC7 reports There were nine puppies in total. They were carried in neon green pouches. If all goes well, they will join the bigger dogs you see in the video as part of Chile’s national police force canine training unit.

The Santiago Times explains the military parade marked the 208th anniversary of the “Día de las Glorias del Ejército del Chile” (Day of the Glories of the Chilean Army)”.

Chile officially declared independence from Spain on February 12, 1818, and was recognized on April 25, 1844. However, by tradition, Chileans celebrate Independence Day on September 18, the day in 1810 when the First Government Junta was established and the war of independence began.
