Grateful Husband Holds Sign Through Window Thanking ER Staff For Saving His Wife’s Life During Coronavirus Crisis

ER staff sees grateful husband hold sign through window

A grateful husband did what he could to show the ER staff at Morristown Medical Center how much he appreciates them.

Allison Swensden is a nurse at the hospital. She looked up and saw this man holding this homemade sign. It reads, “Thank you all in emergency for saving my wife’s life. I love you all.”

Swensden shared the story that the man had tears running down his face as he stood outside holding the sign. Obviously, he couldn’t come in, so he did what he could say, “Thank you.”

She poked her head outside for a moment to ask how his wife was doing. She’s much better and was going home that day.

She wrote, “I don’t know his wife, but through out the last 13 years as a nurse, I realized, this is why we do it- times are tough but we make a difference.”

The gratitude certainly helps to lift spirits.

The hospital’s Facebook page says they still “need donations of personal protective equipment to protect our front line care teams as they fight COVID-19 – N95 masks or similar are in great demand, along with eye protectors, other masks, gloves and gowns.”
