Grieving Capital Gazette Newspaper Staff ‘Put Out The Damn Paper’ Hours After Massacre
No one inspires me more today than the Capital Gazette Newspaper staff.
Hours after a sick, twisted gunman burst into their newsroom in Annapolis, Maryland and started firing, they put out their newspaper.
This #$)#% doesn’t get to stop them from doing what journalists around the world do so bravely every single day.
Telling the story.
This time, telling their story.
How better to honor their five co-workers and friends who were massacred Thursday?
How better to encourage the other two who were wounded?
How do you do that?
How do you have the strength to pick yourself up and do your job in the middle of a crisis.
Reporter Chris Chase said, “I don’t know what else to do except this.”
He declared it to the world just hours after the attack.
I can tell you this: We are putting out a damn paper tomorrow.

And salutes it.
