How Baseball Hall Of Famer Rod Carew Got His Heart Transplant From Former NFL Player Konrad Reuland

Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Rod Carew has some incredible stories to tell about his amazing MLB career.
Nothing can top how he almost died a couple years ago from a heart attack they call a “widow maker,” his very bumpy road waiting for a heart transplant, and most of all, how that incredible gift of a heart ended up coming from former NFL player, Konrad Reuland.
Reuland died in December after a brain aneurysm burst.
He was 29 years old and had only recently decided to become an organ donor.

Konrad Reuland played tight end for the Baltimore Ravens and the New York Jets.
The professional athlete connection is only the beginning of our Carew’s and Reuland’s lives intertwined.
The Los Angeles Times has an incredible story on the two men and a moving interview with Carew.
And CBS News’ Steve Hartman shares the story so well.
