Husband Celebrates 67th Wedding Anniversary Standing Outside Wife’s Nursing Home Defying Coronavirus Ban

Coronavirus means 30 day visiting ban for nursing home. Still, love wins out

No coronavirus ban will keep Bob Shellard from the love of his life.

His wife, Nancy, is in a nursing home in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. He’s been visiting her every single day. But those visits had to stop when the governor put in a 30 day ban on visits to nursing homes.

‘I wouldn’t want anybody else. I don’t think she could put up with anybody else besides me.’

Bob Shellard, speaking of his wife, Nancy

So, what was Bob to do when the couple’s 67th wedding anniversary was coming up? NBCConnecticut reports Bob and Nancy have never ever been apart on their special day.

Ever.

Bob got busy.

He spent a week making a sign. He bought balloons.

And stood outside the home declaring his love.

The staff made sure Nancy came to the window so she could see Bob’s beautiful declaration of his love.

They spoke on the phone.
