Mom Gets Marijuana Cake Instead of ‘Moana’ Cake She Ordered For Daughter’s Birthday

Birthday girl blames heavy Southern accent for mix up over marijuana cake

Kensli Davis is still laughing about her marijuana cake.

Which is the point, really, of sharing this story.

Stuff happens in life.

People have misunderstandings.

I love it when folks can not take things too seriously.

That’s what Kensli is doing in Milledgeville, GA.

Davis tells WMAZ she knows her mother was ordering her a “Moana” cake to celebrate her 25th birthday.

Moana as in the Disney princess from the 2016 movie.

Moana is the Disney princess from the 2016 movie. She is an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. Along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she always sought: her own identity.

Y’all this is why this is so funny

There are great intentions.

Then there are Southern accents.

“I think they thought that she said ‘marijuana’ because we are from south Georgia and kind of have an accent. So, ‘Moana,’ marijuana?”

Kensli says they’ve ordered a lot of other cakes from the same Dairy Queen over the years and they’ve always come out great.

She chalks it up to a simple mistake.

One she just had to share on Facebook.

Moana? Marijuana? DG cake designer simply did a great job

How about this for being a good sport?

Kensli is still giving the DQ props for the design they did come up with.

“I was very impressed by the artistic capabilities of them to be able to do the design that they did,” she said.

It was just a birthday cake mix up, y’all.

This brings back funny memory

One of the reasons I love this story–It brings back a great memory. Check out one of the first cakes my husband ever got for me when we were dating. “Happy Birthday, Raryn!”
