Was that a wedding dress or a super hero cape nurse Rachel Taylor was wearing?

Just minutes after she married Calvin Taylor in Minnesota, Rachel and her new husband were headed home from their wedding ceremony on Father’s Day when they witnessed multi-car accident.

Tammy Peterson told WCCO-TV that she had received a phone call that her son was in a fender bender so she went to the scene of crash to help out.

Just as the newlyweds were passing by they saw a black Chevy Tahoe careen into the back of the crashed cars, crushing Peterson’s leg.

Great training kicks in

Bride Rachel said her nursing instincts kicked in. She popped out of her car and rushed to Peterson asking if there was anything she could do to help, focusing on keeping her calm until the EMT’s got there.

As if he could love his bride more

Groom Calvin shared the experience on Facebook, using the opportunity to rain praise on his new bride.

He wrote, “I am so blessed to have a wonderful wife who will always take care of people who need it, and we were blessed that we were able to be in the right place at the right time to make a difference.

Rachel and I are on our way to our honeymoon, and I am still blown away that she got out of the car in a scary situation to do what she does best.

I can’t wait for a hospital to scoop her up so she can make a difference in people’s lives every day. I am so proud of my wife.

I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with someone who is truly a servant of God, and to serve alongside her.”
