Sacramento TV Crew Rescues Stranded Dogs During Wildfire Coverage
Dropped What They Were Doing To Do What’s Important
Rescuing dogs was not in the original coverage plans for KXTV reporter Brandon Rittiman and photographer Pedro Garcia.
They were covering the Camp Fire in Northern California Friday when they noticed four dogs someone had left behind. The dogs were behind a chain link fence.
Rittiman and Garcia dropped what they were doing and headed straight for the dogs. Though, Garcia did what any excellent photographer would do. He kept rolling. That’s how we get to go along and see rescue was fast and dramatic.
If you watch the video closely, you will see things didn’t go exactly as Rittiman and Garcia would’ve hoped. Once the four dogs were out of the fenced kennel area, they were able to only get one of the dogs in the back of their news van and get him to a K9 Sheriff’s deputy.
TVSpy reports the other 3 dogs ran, but happily were later found.
