What Is It Like To Swim With The Largest Whales In The World?

Ever dream of swimming with whales?

Anuar Patjane is a photographer who last year won National Geographic’s photo contest

for a picture of a humpback whale and her calf. He relives his encounter swimming with

the largest living mammals on earth.

Patjane actually takes incredible photos of scenes out of the water, as well.

To experience his great photos check out his website.

He also was recently honored with capturing one of the best World Press Photos of the year. TIME Magazine has that story.

Who is this modern day Ansel Adams?

He describes himself as, “I’m a social anthropologist and photographer born in Mexico. As long as I can remember, I’ve always had a special affinity towards photographs and cameras, but I don´t know the origin of this affinity.”

You can read more of his bio here.

Please check out my new book, “Hope Possible: A Network News Anchor’s Thoughts On Losing Her Job, Finding Love, A New Career, And My Dog, Always My Dog.” It includes a number of essays about loving your dog.
